Sunday, September 27 - Livin' on a Prayer

Erin Padgett

Prayer is an essential part of our faith tradition, and yet it’s also something that we often struggle within our daily lives. When and where should we pray? What should we be praying about? In Genesis, Abraham teaches us about the impact of prayer. Today we will be talking about prayer and how we can learn to develop a spiritual discipline for prayer that continues to sustain us as we seek A DIFFERENT KIND OF LIFE.

Genesis 18: 16-33.

Sunday, July 28 - The Sound of Silence

Erin Padgett

We live in a world filled with sound. From the music that we stream to the videos that we watch, even a simple trip to the mall or a ride on an elevator invokes sounds all around us. Today we’re going to reflect on the challenges of experiencing moments of silence and times of stillness in the midst of such a fast-paced, sound-filled society. My prayer for you this morning is for us to rediscover and experience the beauty of silence, and simply being in God’s presence, and how that can both re-focus us in times of stress, and re-energize us in our faith journey.

Sunday, August 5 - Wisdom: Doing or Being?

Erin Padgett

As we explore our choices and God’s word, we will embrace the concept of what we do becomes who we are, and what we are steers what we do. Developing holy habits is not a burden, but a pathway to joy and abundant life.  It is an upward spiral of hearing – doing – being that lifts us to a higher plane of Kingdom living.  My prayer for you for this Sunday is that worship affects your daily habits and decisions.  We might even experience a decision to live a holy life and dedicate ourselves to God in ways we have not considered “Holy”.
