The ReWritten Life: An Unnamed Woman

Christina Brooks

In concluding our Rewritten Life series, we have explored various instances from Scripture that serve as reminders of the possibility of change within our own stories. Today's example, although unnamed in the Bible, is commonly known as "the woman caught in adultery." However, we recognize that she possessed an identity beyond this incident. She had a name that held significance and a narrative that deserved recognition. Likewise, each of us possesses intrinsic value and significance. Let us come together this Sunday to acknowledge that we extend beyond the labels imposed upon us by others or even the decisions we have made. Every individual is deserving of recognition and understanding.

The ReWritten Life: Peter

Christina Brooks

Despite being in need of significant improvement, Peter stands out among the disciples. He often speaks impulsively, acts without considering the potential outcomes, and ultimately betrays Jesus by denying any knowledge of him on three occasions. Peter's flaws indicate a considerable amount of personal growth required. However, Jesus addresses him and speaks highly of him, saying, "You are Peter, and upon this foundation, I will establish my church." Join us this Sunday as we talk about Peter.

The ReWritten Life: Daniel

Christina Brooks

When it comes to living our lives, there are many that would tell us what we should do, who we should be and how we should live. Parents, siblings, friends, co-workers, husbands, wives, pastors (thought I better add that one) and more all have a version of life for us to live. Daniel (the guy who faced lions) didn’t want anyone else writing his life’s story. Join us this Sunday as we look at who is writing yours?

The ReWritten Life: Naomi

Christina Brooks

While we all enjoy the happier and more fulfilling parts of our own life journey, it doesn’t take us long to learn that grief is also a part of our story. How we handle those tough moments for ourselves and with others is a part of our growing in faith. This Sunday, we will be looking at the story of Naomi and Ruth, and how they experienced change and transformation within their own time of grief, and what that means for you and I.

The ReWritten Life: Jacob and Esau

Christina Brooks

This Sunday we will continue sermon series, The ReWritten Life. Join us as we take a look at Jacob and Esau. We get the name Israel from God renaming Jacob.  God then refers to God’s self as “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob”.  Saying in essence, “If you want to know who I am look at my people”.  Let’s come together (in person or online) and contemplate the heavy weight of that.  Jacob seemed beyond transformation.  He was selfish, conniving, manipulative and raised by his mother to be that way.  He not only had personal life failures to overcome, he also had generational dysfunction.  Why would God point to such a people?  Why are these stories in the Bible?  How do they apply to me?  Can I have a new life?  What does it mean to wrestle with God?

New Sermon Series!

Christina Brooks

We start a new sermon series this Sunday. Join us as we take a look at people from the Bible who had an encounter and then had their name changed. We will take a look at how that name change represents a change in their story. We are going to spend the next few weeks discussing that there is always hope and that in partnering with God, our story always has possibility. This week we are taking a look at how something that can seem like a small change often conveyed a big change had been instituted. It is can represent the difference between our desire for our life and God’s desire for our life. What small changes has God worked in you that made a big difference in your life. What small changes is God working in you now?
