Sunday, July 9, 2023. Worth Knowing

Christina Brooks

Scripture: John 8:2-11

Today we wrap up our Rewritten Life series, where we have been looking at examples throughout Scripture that show us that change is always possible in each one of our stories. Our example for today, sadly, has no actual name recorded in the Bible. She is simply referred to as, "the woman caught in adultery," but we know she was more than that. This woman had a name that was worth learning and a story that was worth knowing. We all do. Join us today as we remember that we are each more than the labels others put on us, or even the choices we have made. Each of us is worth knowing.

Sunday, January 15, 2023 - Who Do You Say That I Am?

Christina Brooks

Often throughout the Gospel of Mark, we see people confused or even arguing over who Jesus was. Was he a prophet? A regular ole' carpenter? A misguided teacher? Or was he actually the long-awaited Messiah? In our world today, there continues to be confusion over who Jesus is- what he cares about, what he stands for, what it means to follow Jesus. It leaves us to wonder, who do we say that Jesus is? If people were to look at our lives, what would our words and actions say about who Jesus is? And how can we move a little closer toward the true heart of Christ? Join us this morning as we explore this together.

Sunday, July 31 - For Thine is the Kingdom, Power, and Glory

Christina Brooks

Today, we wrap up our study on the prayer that Jesus taught to his disciples by taking a look at the final line- For Thine is the Kingdom, and the Power, and the Glory forever. Not every Christian tradition includes this line when they recite the Lord’s prayer, so why do we? What does this last line of the prayer hold that we would miss if we left it out? Let’s dive into it together.

Sunday, April 24 - Worship & Prayer

Christina Brooks

Today, we begin a new series called, "The Walk." Over the next six weeks, we will meditate on a few spiritual practices that are foundational to our lives- our walk- with Christ. This week we kick things off by talking about worship and prayer- two practices that can be just as confusing as they are beautiful. Let's explore them together.
