Sunday, Sept 22 - Seasons of Life

Erin Padgett

Through life's journey we experience many seasons. Some are related to the life-stage we are in, but others strike like a bolt of lightning out of the blue that causes our entire lives to be upended and reoriented. This week I sit down with Terry Collier, Anona's Christian Counselor, to discuss how we can walk, and help others walk, through the seasons of life.

Sunday, September 15 - Spiritual TuneUp

Erin Padgett

This month we’ve been lifting up labor, and rest. Our Scripture today from 2 Corinthians 4:16 tells us not to lose heart, as our physical selves continue to age and “waste away”, we can still find hope in the renewal of our spirit: My prayer for you and I this morning is that we may find times of spiritual renewal where we can continue to shine the light of Christ brightly in our daily lives.

Sunday, September 8 - Rest

Erin Padgett

God wants to elevate us. God sent His son to “lift us up”. Moses “lifted up” the serpent in the wilderness that all would be healed, (an early reference to what would be seen later as Jesus on the Cross.) The word “rest” in the bible is “to stop and be lifted up”. Jesus says to us “come to me” so that we may be elevated. My wife watches cooking shows and when I walk by and crane my neck in they always seem to be elevating a dish. I’m not sure what that means in the culinary world, but I know what it is in the spiritual. Let’s take this Sunday to stop and be elevated. I’m sure I’m not the first preacher to run across this. I guess that’s where the term “rest up” comes from.
